Though conversation and commitments toward a more diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible industry are being actioned across the Canadian music industry, action toward true and sustainable change can be daunting. SOCAN has spearheaded a task force to address the issues and support the industry in moving forward. In this session, the new toolkit created to help the whole sector will be presented, followed by a conversation from leading professionals about the importance of everyone focussing on this work.

Join us for a panel discussion on strategies to ensure your voice IS heard during the songwriting process, in the recording studio, and with business negotiations. Our music industry experts will share their experiences and insights to help ensure your creative voice is represented and valued in all aspects of the music industry.

MPC and SAC are pleased to jointly present The Live Co-Write with producer Mike Schlosser and songwriter Sarah Boulton. Join us in the writing room while Mike and Sarah create a new song live and allow you to view Mike's screen and follow along with the process. There will be an MPC NXTGen mixer after the event."

SOCAN and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) are excited to present a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity hosted by JUNO-nominated Canadian artist, Miranda Mulholland with class of 2024 CSHF inductees Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo), as well as chart-topping and award-winning songwriter Lowell (Beyoncé, The Beaches, Tate McRae). Hear the stories behind their greatest songs, learn valuable lessons from their personal experiences, gain insights into the songwriting craft, learn how to navigate the music industry as an emerging creator, and more.
